Essie Urban Jungle + Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low

I have been loving my nails since I painted them with these colors!

Urban Jungle by Essie is a muted pink, which reminds me a lot of Fiji (also by Essie) but, like I said, more muted.   I love that shade, so when I received this one in my London Fashion Weekend goodie bag, I was very happy!

I wore it on its own for a week, and then decided to re paint them with it and add something else. I had been wanting to wear Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low since Christmas (it came in a mini set from Boots), and this was my chance. Both colors look beautiful together and the shades compliment each other really well.

As Urban Jungle it is a light shade, I was worried it might be sheer, but it isn't. I am wearing two coats of it in the photo. I don't think you can get away with just one, but two is 100% opaque. I'm also weating two coats of Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low, although I also have one coat of the first nail polish on that nail cause I got distracted while painting them and forgot I wanted to do that a different color! Oops!

What are your favorite nail polish combinations?

Nail of the Day | Rimmel London - Black Cab

rimmel london black cab nail polish

If you told me a few years ago I was going to be in love with black nail polish, I wouldn't have believed you. I was always into pinks and reds, and then got into more colors. With that said, black has become my favorite color to paint my nails, and it's all thanks to Black Cab by Rimmel London.

This nail polish is great! It only takes two coats to get completely opaque and it's not an expensive nail polish. It's also super creamy, even if you don't use a top coat (which I always do because that way my nail polish lasts longer).

Do you have a favorite black nail polish?

¿Tenéis algún pintauñas negro favorito?

Nail of the day - Bobbing For Baubles by Essie

Today I want to show you one of my current favorite nail polishes. This is Bobbing For Baubles by Essie and it's a lovely navy color, as you can see in the picture. I really like wearing it and I think it looks very classy. It also compliments really well my pale skin, but I'm sure it'd also look amazing on darker skin tones.

This one came out a couple years ago, but After School Boy Blazer is a very similar navy and it's from their newer winter collection, so if you can't find the one I'm showing, that one is pretty close (although a bit more dark).

Este salió hace un par de años, pero After School Boy Blazer es un azul marino muy parecido y es de la nueva colección de invierno, así que si no encontráis este, el otro es casi lo mismo (aunque un poco más oscuro).

Nail of the day - Live and let die

I recently got 2 nail polishes from OPI's James Bond collection and this is one of them. It's called Live And Let Die (since all of them have names from the movies) and I'd describe it as a dark base, which I see as a mixture of navy, green and grey, with tons of fine green and gold glitter.

and, you know what's amazing about it? ...I only applied ONE coat of the nail polish!! It's crazy how creamy and opaque this nail polish is. Obviously, it starts chipping earlier if you only do 1 coat, but still, it has lasted around 4 days perfectly.

Did you get any nail polishes from this James Bond collection? Did you like them? Let me know :)

Nail of the day - Raven Red

I have yet another nail of the day post today. This time it is Raven Red by Revlon, and this is also a great color for the fall and winter time. It's a deep red color, so it's not very original but it's nice to have a color (or a few) like this in your nail polish collection.

These photos have been taken under natural light and I applied 2 coats of the nail polish. It's very creamy and it doesn't chip easy (at least that's my experience).

xoxo

ps: I'm not having a lot of posts up because I had photos ready in one of my memory cards and I lost it, so I have to retake them and I'm busy with college and everything, but I'm catching up so there will be more posts up soon :)

Nail of the day - Jaded Night

I had never used a Revlon nail polish before but I have to say that I'm in love with the quality of this nail polish. It is Jaded Night and there's a sticker on the bottle that says it's a new shade but it might not be, I don't know.

Anyway, this is a dark green color, which I feel it's perfect for fall. I like that it is very creamy and it was almost opaque with just one coat.

2 coats, natural light
I also got another Revlon nail polish, so I'll be showing you that one soon.

Nail of the day - Flamingo Coral

This is the nail polish I got at Topshop while I was in London and obviously it had to be a pink color, since I'm obsessed. This one reminds me of "Rose Libertine" by Rimmel but it is a little bit more light and vibrant.

It's called "Flamingo Coral" and this is what it looks like under natural light:

It applies very thick which I think is nice because you could get away with just one coat, even though I did two just in case.

Do you own any Topshop nail polishes? Which one is your favorite?

Nail of the day - Cute as a button

I've been wanting to try this nail polish for a while now because I heard so many people talking about it and loving it. Finally I bought it when I went to the US and I have to say that I'm in love with it as well.

This nail polish is "Cute as a button" by Essie. Here are some pictures of it in natural light:

It is a pink color as you can see and I really love pink nail polishes (and pink everything) so this is a great nail polish to have in my collection. I can definitely see why so many people like it.

Nail of the day - Mojito Madness

As you can guess from the title, today I'm showing you "Mojito madness" by Essie, which is a color that came out in their 2012 summer collection.

You can get this color at beauty.com here, at Target here or at Nordstrom here.
I'm not usually a person who goes for out-there colors, but I think this green is fun for summer and it's always nice to change it up a little bit.

Nail of the day - Neon party

"Flip Flop Fantasy" by China Glaze is the perfect nail polish color for this summer. I was very impressed with the color itself because I thought it was going to look worse on the nails than the color you can see on the bottle, but I was wrong. The color is the same: neon coral.

Depending on the light it can look either orange, pink or coral; but I think this last one is its real color because it's the one you see most of the time with natural lighting.

I was surprised again when I painted the first nail and saw it was matte. A friend told me that all neon nail polishes are matte the other day, but I didn't know it when I was painting them. If you like matte nails then you're going to love this nail polish but if you prefer glossy nails, you can always apply a top coat.

You can get it HERE!

Nail of the day - Golden Olive

This nail polish is from Kiko but as you can see it looks a lot like Chanel's Peridot. Overall, I think this is a great dupe of you don't want to spend a lot of money on this color, and since I don't think I'm going to wear it that often, I couldn't justify paying 25€ for it.

This is number 395 from Kiko and since it's from the duo-chrome line it was a little more expensive than their regular nail polishes, but still it was 3.5€.

Natural sunlight, 2 coats
Indoors, 2 coats
This is a pretty close color even though I think Chanel's might be a little more on the green side, what do you think?

Nail of the day - Sparkly sea

Lately I've been naming my nail of the day posts because it seems more fun than just including the name of the nail polish in the title. I named it Sparkly Sea because that's what it reminds me of: a beach with clear blue water that sparkles with the sun light.

I used China Glaze's "For Audrey" as a base color and then Essie's "Pure Pearlfection" on top.

Nail of the day - Chocolate in spring

First of all I want to say that I know it's spring, almost summer and I get that bright color nails look better than darker ones during the season. But I found one nail polish the other day that I hadn't even tried, so I went ahead and painted my nails with it.

I'm talking about "Foie Gras" by China Glaze, which was part of the Hunger Games collection. This color reminds me of chocolate and even though I'm not a big fan of brown nail polishes, I really like this one. It is a little bit lighter on the bottle, but still I think it's very pretty.

Nail of the day - Lemon Fizz

I'm excited to show you this because it's my first time trying a yellow nail polish. I've never thought I'd like yellow nail polish because I think some polishes can be too bright or too in your face. Anyhow, this nail polish that I'm showing you is more on the pastel side and it's pretty light, so I actually really like it.

As you can guess by the little of the post, it is "Lemon Fizz" by China Glaze. I think this is one of the most popular yellow nail polishes and that's why I decided to get it: if so many people liked it, it had to be pretty. And it is:

2 coats, natural light
Like I said, I like how it's more on the light side and it's not too eye catching; although there were a few people who noticed it and commented, but they all said they liked it.
I recommend it to all of you, specially if you're afraid or hesitant to get a yellow nail polish, and hopefully you'll love it too.

Nail of the day - Dress Me Up

This is the color I've been wearing for a few days now, and it's "dress me up" from China Glaze's Hunger Games collection.
I thought it was going to be more pink than it actually is, because it just has pink undertones but as you can see it's kind of an earthy color. Anyways, once I got over how it wasn't pink at all, I really liked it and I'm gonna be wearing it a lot more times.

Also from this Hunger Games collection, which I believe it's officially called Capitol Colors, I bought "Fast track" and "Foie Gras", so hopefully you'll be seeing those soon enough.

PD: if you didn't know, I started a YouTube channel last week, so if you have time please check it out here :)...and thank you!

Nail of the day - Minty green

As promised on my last outfit of the day post, here's the nail polish I was wearing that day. It is the number 345 from the brand Kiko. I don't think this brand is available outside of Europe but I might be wrong; and also I don't know if you can get it all over Europe. I know you can find Kiko stores in Italy, UK, Spain, France, Portugal and there might be some other countries, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm loving pastel colors and mint is one of my favorites. I own a few nail polishes that have this kind of tone, but a lot of people (around 8 really) have asked me about this one while I was wearing it.

Another good thing about Kiko is that it's really cheap. Their nail polishes retail for 2.50€ and it took me 2 coats to be completely opaque. I really like them.

Nail of the day #9 - Make an entrance

"Make an entrance" by China Glaze is a great pink fuchsia color because it's not too bright or in your face but it's noticeable. Pink is my favorite color and most my favorite nail polishes are pink. This is the first time I try this nail polish but it has already made my fave list.

Also, I'm very impressed with the quality of China Glaze nail polishes. They're very cheap compared to other popular brands like OPI or Essie but to me, they're the same quality (if not better).

Natural light, 2 coats
Have you tried China Glaze before? Do you like it? If so, please tell me what your favorite colors are because I want to get a few more nail polishes from this brand and I don't know which ones to get.

xoxo
