Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick 25 | Review and swatch

Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick 25
Today I wanted to review the Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in the number 25. I bought this recently and I was not expecting to like it as much as I do, so in the hopes that someone reads and discovers a new favorite, here I go.

The real reason why I looked at it in the first place is because the sales assistant was helping someone else so I had to wait to pay for my stuff, which meant looking at something pretending I was interested. I came across the shadow stick section, which I've never been a huge fan of, but I found this color (called Light Taupe on the website) and I really liked it. I swatched it on my hand and when I was going to smudge it clean, it wouln't move!

I'm not a huge fan of shadow sticks because they tend to smudge and crease on my lids, but this one is so long lasting it stays put for many hours! (claiming 8h, which I haven't tried yet). The color is also great for everyday wear, but they have a great selection if you want something different.

You can buy it at Kiko stores all over Europe or on their website, selling for 6.90€ or £6.90 in the UK.

Naked Basics palette by Urban Decay | Review + swatches

I finally did it. For the longest time I didn't want to buy this palette cause I have the original Naked and the Naked 2 and I didn't think I needed it (which I probably don't anyway lol), but after seeing everyone get it and fall in love with it I had to.
As some of you may know, it comes with six neutral eyeshadows, five of them being matte. It's also pretty small so it's perfect for travelling and, surprisingly, you can create a lot of different looks with it.

The packaging is gorgeous as you can see; it feels very expensive and nice. Like I said, it's also pretty compact and small and it uses space wisely (it doesn't have many empty space to make it bulkier).

The shadows are amazing and different enough from each other and from the other Naked palettes (except foxy, which also came in the Naked 2). Venus is the only shimmery color, the rest are matte.

Since I couldn't capture the colors in the light/way I wanted to, here are two different photos so you can judge for yourself.

Overall, I recommend this palette to all of you, specially if you like wearing neutral colors and/or don't have many other; but even if you do you're going to enjoy it. Urban Decay eyeshadows are great quality, so it's no surprise everyones loves this palette as much as I do.

Wedge by MAC | Review and Swatches

As I told you in my Satin Taupe review, on that trip to MAC I also got another eyeshadow: Wedge. This one is less known but I also think it's an essential for anyone that likes wearing eyeshadow.

Wedge is a matte brown color very comparable to Naked by Urban Decay, although I'd say Wedge is a little bit darker, but very slightly. I use Naked a lot and sometimes I just don't like to get the whole palette out just for one color, so I though this would be very nice. If you don't own the Naked Palette I really recommend you buy this one.

You can create a lot of neutral looks with this eyeshadow or you can use it in your crease as a blending color. MAC eyeshadows have amazing quality, and this one is no exception as you can see in the swatch below:

Satin Taupe by MAC | Review + Swatches

Satin Taupe is one of MAC's most famous eyeshadows. I was at the MAC counter the other day because I wanted something from the new collection but I couldn't stop looking at their eyeshadows, so I asked the lady there to recommend a neutral one. This is the first one she mentioned and after she told me the name I already knew I was getting it. I also bought Wedge, but I'll do another post for that one.

As you can see it is a beautiful shimmery taupe eyeshadow. If you look closely you can see that the shimmer is silver, and you can also notice if you look at it at an angle with the light.

I think it is a staple piece for any make up collection and I don't know why I didn't purchase it before. Even though it is a little dark, I think it can be worn in a daily look if you only use a little. Also, it is highly pigmented as you can see in this next picture:

It is definitely a new favorite of mine. What do you think?
Also, let me know if you're loving any MAC eyeshadow that you think I might also like :)

Weekly photos #24

Only 1 more week to start my classes again...and I don't want to. Even though I get really bored during the summer, it's better than being overwhelmed with papers, projects and exams.

The good thing is that since we're already in fall time, I have to go shopping for the season! haha

1. One of my guilty pleasures
2. We recently got Essie in some stores, but it retails for 12€, which is crazy! Thankfully we have internet and online stores that carry Essie for less than that (although it's still more expensive than US prices).
3. I went to MAC and got myself a blush and two eyeshadows. I'll review them soon.
4. I've been making grilled cheese and ham sandwiches a lot this week. Even my sister wanted me to make one for her...actually she was willing to pay me (1€) because she was very lazy...I didn't do it cause I was feeling lazy as well lol
5. I got my october Teen Vogue magazine, which made me happy :)
6. I was cleaning out my closet and I found this old and very wrinkly t-shirt I got at Hilary Duff's concert in 2006. I can't believe that was 6 years ago!
7 & 8. I painted my nails with those two nail polishes. The color is actually like the one in the second picture.

May 2012 Favorites!

I don't have to go to class anymore!!! (well, I have to take my finals, but you know what I mean). That's the most exciting thing of the month. I have waking up early, going to class, getting bored in class, regretting going to class, being tired all day, and repeating that same thing every single day. My last final is june 22nd, so that's still pretty far away but since I can sleep in, it's all better.

Okay, so let's go ahead and see what my favorites this month have been:

Urban Decay "all nighter" spray: This is a make up setting spray and I feel like it works wonders now that it's summer. I didn't really feel that it did that much in winter (although I used it every day) but now that it's getting really warm I do feel the difference.
DKNY Red Delicious perfume: This perfume smells really fresh and it has that apple hint that all DKNY Delicious perfumes have, although it's not as strong as the green one.

NYX Jumbo Eye pencils in "milk" and "yogurt": I use these two as a base for my eye shadow and they make the color on top look better. Even if I wear these I still use a primer because I feel like it lasts longer.

Milani eyeshadow quad in "desert suades": I've been loving the lightest color that looks like a highlight, but I've been wearing it a lot all over my lid, on top of the "milk" jumbo pencil. I also love the pink-ish one.

MAC mineralize eyeshadow in "snow season": I've been loving it on top of the "yogurt" jumbo pencil because I feel like they're a perfect match. You've probably seen me talking bout this eyeshadow before, but really it's one of my favorites of all time, and I've been wearing it a lot this month.

Maybelline lipstick in "162 feel pink": I love this color so much because it's pink but it's a little dark at the same time. Not very dark but you can definitely see the color from far away.

NYX blush in "peach": this color is really light and I love that because my skin is really light as well. If you have fair skin I really recommend this blush, but if you're skin is darker it might not look as nice.

Rings from ASOS: I've been obsessed with these ever since I got them. I've been wearing them like crazy and I don't think I'm going to stop doing it in june.
