MAC Lipstick in Diva | Review and swatch

MAC Lipstick in Diva | Review and swatch
I have been wanting to buy Diva by MAC since last year but for some reason (probably because I bought too many lipsticks) I never got around to it. It seems like this year it's going to be just as popular, or even more, so I decided to go ahead and make a trip to my closest MAC counter before I started buying other lipsticks. It's all just a cycle, really.

As you can see, it looks really dark on the tube but it's not as intimidating when you wear it. If you're into wearing dark lipsticks, this shade of burgundy is most likely perfect for you. It's also a matte formula, which I have been really liking this year, and it's up to MAC standards as far as longlasting/pigmentation/hydration goes.

You can get it at MAC counters or MAC stores, or at their online website for £15.50 in the UK, 19.50€ in Spain or $16 in the US.

TOP 3 | My Favorite Nude Lipsticks

Favorite Nude Lipsticks MAC Patisserie Creme Cup L'Oreal JLo's Cheryl Nude Collection Privee
Whenever I don't know what lipstick I want to wear, or I don't have enough time to think about it (because, let's face it, it's a time consuming decision), I always end up wearing a nude lipstick. It goes with everything! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite nude lipsticks, which happen to be these 3:

MAC Patisserie: I bought it because Lily Pebbles and Anna (ViviannaDoesMakeup) talked about it all the time, and it was one of the best makeup decisions ever! I love this lipstick so much and it has become my favorite nude.

L'Oreal Collection Privée lipstick in JLo's Nude (Cheryl's Nude in the UK): This one is similar to Patisserie but I'd say it has a bit more pink in it. I reckon it would suit pretty much every single skin tone.

MAC Creme Cup: This is the pinkiest one from the bunch, but still a nude. Perfect if you don't feel comfortable enough with nude lips yet!

Top 5 | My favorite fall lipsticks

Today I want to share with you my top 5 lipsticks for fall! It's no secret I love my lip products, so obviously I'm going to have some favorites for the fall time.

 1. MAC's Rebel lipstick: Rebel is a satin lipstick from MAC's permanent collection (so it's easy to find it) and one of their most popular ones for this time of the year. If you like the dark lips trend, this is your lipstick. It's a dark purple color but very wearable and pretty. It's my favorite one out of these five.

2. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in Smitten: this is also a dark purple color, but it's lighter than Rebel. This product is a stain but it's very creamy and it won't dry your lips, which is always a good thing.

3. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in Honey: as you can tell, I really like these. I chose this one because it's a light color but it's not bright. It's a muted mauve that I think it's perfect for the fall time. Even though I'm putting it as my third option, it's the one I wear the most out of the five.

4. Maybelline lipstick in Lady Red (#527): everyone needs a red lipstick, and to me, this is the best one out there. Maybelline lipsticks are very good quality and this is just amazing. It has cool undertones so it makes your teeth look whiter than a warm red would.

5. Maybelline Super Stay 10h tint gloss in lasting pink: another stain...but this one has a glossy finish. Even though the color is called lasting pink, I'd say it's more on the red side, but anyway, it's very pretty.

I also make a video on this, so here it is in case you want to see them (and some swatches) in "real life":

También he hecho un vídeo de esto, así que os lo dejo aquí por si los quieres ver (y los swatches) en "la vida real":

October 2012 Favorites!

I've been very busy this month and I feel like I'm making excuses in every single post recently but here I am, and I'm going to try to post more frequently.
My favorites this month have been:

For my lips I chose this Baby Lips by Maybelline in the color "pink punch", the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in the color "sweetheart" and the L'Oreal Caresse lipstick in the color "mauve cherie".

As for eyeshadow, I've been loving these two L'Oreal color infallible shadows; the colors are "pebble grey" and "hourglass beige". They're both very pigmented and gorgeous.

I've also been loving these two blushes: the first one is the Tarte amazonian clay 12-hour blush in the color "dollface" and the other one is a MAC blush in the color "stay pretty" which came out in a recent collection, so I don't know if it's still available or not. The brush that I've been using a lot to apply my brush is from Forever 21 (which is crazy to me) and it's the softest ever! It came in a set for around 8€.

This is a little more random but I've been loving that bracelet from H&M and a cleansing water from Biotherm biosource, which is actually a foam when you pump it.

What have you been loving this month?

How much is my face worth?

I've been seeing this post all over blogger and thought it was very interesting and fun to do, so I decided to do it myself.  It basically consists on listing all the products you use on your face on a daily basis to do your make up and add up the prices to see "how much is your face worth".

I just want to say that some products may be different every day like blush, lipstick, lipgloss and/or eyeshadow, but I tried to pick middle-priced items. Also, prices here are more expensive, so if you but these things somewhere else, it'd be different.

  • Pond's "equilibrian-t" moisturizer - 19€ (Actually my mom bought this for me and she doesn't remember the exact price but she said around 18-20€)
  • Make up for ever HD foundation - 38€
  • Dream matte powder by Maybelline - 11€
  • Garnier dark circle roll on - 8.50€
  • Maybelline pure mineral concealer - 7.50€
  • Too faced shadow insurance - 22.15€
  • Urban Decay Naked palette - 38€ (at the time I bought it)
  • NYX slide on eyeliner - 6.20€
  • Maybelline colossal volume express mascara - 11€
  • MAC blush - 22€
  • Maybelline lipstick - 10€
  • NYX round lip gloss - 2€
  • Urban Decay all nighter spray - 18€
19+38+11+8.5+7.5+22.15+38+6.20+11+22+10+2+18= 213.35€

213.35€ is a lot of money for every day make up, but obviously these products last a long time and you don't need to replace most of them in a really long time.

Wedge by MAC | Review and Swatches

As I told you in my Satin Taupe review, on that trip to MAC I also got another eyeshadow: Wedge. This one is less known but I also think it's an essential for anyone that likes wearing eyeshadow.

Wedge is a matte brown color very comparable to Naked by Urban Decay, although I'd say Wedge is a little bit darker, but very slightly. I use Naked a lot and sometimes I just don't like to get the whole palette out just for one color, so I though this would be very nice. If you don't own the Naked Palette I really recommend you buy this one.

You can create a lot of neutral looks with this eyeshadow or you can use it in your crease as a blending color. MAC eyeshadows have amazing quality, and this one is no exception as you can see in the swatch below:

Satin Taupe by MAC | Review + Swatches

Satin Taupe is one of MAC's most famous eyeshadows. I was at the MAC counter the other day because I wanted something from the new collection but I couldn't stop looking at their eyeshadows, so I asked the lady there to recommend a neutral one. This is the first one she mentioned and after she told me the name I already knew I was getting it. I also bought Wedge, but I'll do another post for that one.

As you can see it is a beautiful shimmery taupe eyeshadow. If you look closely you can see that the shimmer is silver, and you can also notice if you look at it at an angle with the light.

I think it is a staple piece for any make up collection and I don't know why I didn't purchase it before. Even though it is a little dark, I think it can be worn in a daily look if you only use a little. Also, it is highly pigmented as you can see in this next picture:

It is definitely a new favorite of mine. What do you think?
Also, let me know if you're loving any MAC eyeshadow that you think I might also like :)

Weekly photos #24

Only 1 more week to start my classes again...and I don't want to. Even though I get really bored during the summer, it's better than being overwhelmed with papers, projects and exams.

The good thing is that since we're already in fall time, I have to go shopping for the season! haha

1. One of my guilty pleasures
2. We recently got Essie in some stores, but it retails for 12€, which is crazy! Thankfully we have internet and online stores that carry Essie for less than that (although it's still more expensive than US prices).
3. I went to MAC and got myself a blush and two eyeshadows. I'll review them soon.
4. I've been making grilled cheese and ham sandwiches a lot this week. Even my sister wanted me to make one for her...actually she was willing to pay me (1€) because she was very lazy...I didn't do it cause I was feeling lazy as well lol
5. I got my october Teen Vogue magazine, which made me happy :)
6. I was cleaning out my closet and I found this old and very wrinkly t-shirt I got at Hilary Duff's concert in 2006. I can't believe that was 6 years ago!
7 & 8. I painted my nails with those two nail polishes. The color is actually like the one in the second picture.

Jennifer Lawrence inspired make up

You all know I'm a huge Hunger Games fan, so I was very happy to create this look. I got my inspiration from her look at the Hunger Games premiere, where she wore a pretty brown smokey eye, peachy cheeks and really light colored (almost nude) lips.

For my eyes I used the color "buck" from the Naked Palette as a base, the third color from the Revlon quad in "Attitude" for my crease and the darkest color in that same quad for my outer corner and I also put a little bit down my lower lash line. To highlight my brow bone I used a single eyeshadow from CoverGirl in the color "french vanilla", and to highlight my inner corner I used an eyeshadow from Bourjois called "citron givré".

My eyeliner is NYX Slide On pencil in "Jet black" and my mascara is CoverGirl Lash Blast (the waterproof version).

For my cheeks I used MAC's blush in "Launch Away!" (that came out with their Hey Sailor! collection) which is just a very light peachy color.
And last but not least I used MAC's lipstick in "Creme Cup" on my lips and NYX's lipgloss in "Mauve". This combination created a light pink color that can look a little nude as well.

If you want to see all the steps, you can go watch the video I made:

What do you think of this look?

Chatterbox by MAC: review + swatch

Chatterbox is a MAC lipstick that fits into their "Amplified" category, which means that it is very pigmented and it has a cream finish (it's not matte but it's not shimmery).
I would describe it as a bright pink color with a slight hint of coral, even though it looks darker in this picture.

As you might know, MAC lipsticks come in a black bullet like stick/tube/package which makes it look sleek and nice but it's not so much a good thing if you have a few of them and don't want to look to the bottom of it to see the color.

This one is more like the real color
I think this color is perfect for the summer time and I recommend it with a light pink color on your cheeks; I think that looks really cute. I also picture someone wearing this lipstick while wearing a bright floral pattern summer dress (but that's just an idea haha).

This swatch is pretty close to the real color, if not perfect, so look at this last picture instead of the other ones if you're trying to decide if you like the color or not.

I'm pretty happy with this lipstick so far and it applies smooth even when my lips are a bit dry and chapped.

June 2012 Favorites!

I haven't tried out many products this month because I had exams and all of that, but I did get one thing that I wanted for a long time and finally decided to get. I love it so much and that's why I'm featuring it here: it is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.

You probably have seen this before so I don't want to get into details, but it is a great neutral palette and you can create a lot of different looks with it; it's definitely worth the money.

Then I have 3 lip products because you all know I love lip products:

The first one is my MAC lipstick in Chatterbox and it looks darker in that picture but I have a post ready for you guys to see soon (while I'm gone) in which I have better pictures and swatches. The second one is my EOS lip balm in Lemon Drop and it's great for summer because it also has SPF 15. The third one is Maybelline's Super Stay 10h tint gloss and I don't know the color name but it's kind of a dark pink color; I'm not sure if it stays for 10 hours, but it does stay on for a long time.

My favorite nail polish of the month has been "Flip Flop Fantasy" by China Glaze which is a really pretty neon color.

And last but not least I have 2 bracelets that I've been wearing a lot. The spiked one is from ASOS and the other one is from H&M.

Pink Swoon by MAC: review + swatch

I have another MAC blush review for all you you today. I love blush and I feel like I can never have enough (I actually don't have that many) because they're all so unique and different, even if the difference is really small.

This blush is Pink Swoon by MAC and I would say it's a perfect pink color for your cheeks.

MAC blushes are really amazing quality and I recommend them to all of you. Just go to your MAC store or counter and swatch a bunch of them, because they are really pretty.

They are a bit expensive if you think about it (prices are different in every country but I believe it cost me around 20€) but totally worth the money. As you can see the package is really good. Little story here: I held this blush in one hand and my NYX creme blush, which looks really similar, on the other hand and that's when I really noticed the difference. This one is more heavy and the material feels nicer. You may think it's kind of stupid but I think it's important.

The color looks brighter in the package than it does once it's swatched or on your cheeks. When you apply it, it looks light pink instead of a really colorful, bright pink.

Here are two swatches on my arm so you get the idea of the color it would have once you apply it on your skin.

Weekly photos #9

I'm just 2 weeks away from freedom aka finishing my finals :) I'm very excited about it but stressed at the same time because I need to study and I simply procrastinate to the max. Having to maintain a blog and a youtube channel doesn't help, but that's what I like, so I work with it.

Again, I'm only going to have 4 photos, since I'm not doing much anyway.

1. Walking down the street. Funny thing: I thought I had a final at 9am and it was at noon, so I went back home pretty mad and thought I'd go to MAC but the store was closed, so I got even more mad. I don't like to wake up at 7.30 am for nothing :(
2. This color is actually pink but for some reason it looks coral. It's "rose libertine" from Rimmel and I've been wearing it this week.
3. I finally went to MAC (not the day that I was talking about on picture number 1) and got a few things, well, just 3 haha I reviewed one the other day and I'll review the other 2 this week or the next one.
4. I went to Zara and got the prettiest, coolest bag ever! joking, but I'm in love with it. I'll be showing that and some other stuff I got this week in a haul post.

That was it for this week, I hope you guys had a nice one and if you're studying like I should be, then the best of luck for you! :)

Launch Away! by MAC: review + swatch

I went to MAC the other day because I wanted to get this blush. I've been seeing the Hey Sailor! collection all around blogger and youtube and I wanted to get something so I went online to see what they had and loved everything! So that was a problem, but when I went to the actual store, I fell in love with this blush.

First of all, the packaging is really cute, and that's always nice when you're trying to see what you like; and it goes pretty well with the sailor theme of the collection.

I'd say the color of the blush is a light peach. It really is light and it's also kind of sheer, so you actually have to apply quite a bit of product to see its real color. Even though, when you're wearing it, it can look light pink.

Here's a swatch on my arm. As you can tell it's really hard to see but it gives my face a nice glow. It might look better on darker skin tones because it would stand out more.

Did you get anything from this collection?

May 2012 Favorites!

I don't have to go to class anymore!!! (well, I have to take my finals, but you know what I mean). That's the most exciting thing of the month. I have waking up early, going to class, getting bored in class, regretting going to class, being tired all day, and repeating that same thing every single day. My last final is june 22nd, so that's still pretty far away but since I can sleep in, it's all better.

Okay, so let's go ahead and see what my favorites this month have been:

Urban Decay "all nighter" spray: This is a make up setting spray and I feel like it works wonders now that it's summer. I didn't really feel that it did that much in winter (although I used it every day) but now that it's getting really warm I do feel the difference.
DKNY Red Delicious perfume: This perfume smells really fresh and it has that apple hint that all DKNY Delicious perfumes have, although it's not as strong as the green one.

NYX Jumbo Eye pencils in "milk" and "yogurt": I use these two as a base for my eye shadow and they make the color on top look better. Even if I wear these I still use a primer because I feel like it lasts longer.

Milani eyeshadow quad in "desert suades": I've been loving the lightest color that looks like a highlight, but I've been wearing it a lot all over my lid, on top of the "milk" jumbo pencil. I also love the pink-ish one.

MAC mineralize eyeshadow in "snow season": I've been loving it on top of the "yogurt" jumbo pencil because I feel like they're a perfect match. You've probably seen me talking bout this eyeshadow before, but really it's one of my favorites of all time, and I've been wearing it a lot this month.

Maybelline lipstick in "162 feel pink": I love this color so much because it's pink but it's a little dark at the same time. Not very dark but you can definitely see the color from far away.

NYX blush in "peach": this color is really light and I love that because my skin is really light as well. If you have fair skin I really recommend this blush, but if you're skin is darker it might not look as nice.

Rings from ASOS: I've been obsessed with these ever since I got them. I've been wearing them like crazy and I don't think I'm going to stop doing it in june.
xoxo
