Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick 25 | Review and swatch

Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick 25
Today I wanted to review the Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in the number 25. I bought this recently and I was not expecting to like it as much as I do, so in the hopes that someone reads and discovers a new favorite, here I go.

The real reason why I looked at it in the first place is because the sales assistant was helping someone else so I had to wait to pay for my stuff, which meant looking at something pretending I was interested. I came across the shadow stick section, which I've never been a huge fan of, but I found this color (called Light Taupe on the website) and I really liked it. I swatched it on my hand and when I was going to smudge it clean, it wouln't move!

I'm not a huge fan of shadow sticks because they tend to smudge and crease on my lids, but this one is so long lasting it stays put for many hours! (claiming 8h, which I haven't tried yet). The color is also great for everyday wear, but they have a great selection if you want something different.

You can buy it at Kiko stores all over Europe or on their website, selling for 6.90€ or £6.90 in the UK.

Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick 27 | Review and swatch

Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick 27
After hearing a lot of people (specially Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup) talk about this lipstick, and knowing how much I love my dark lipsticks, I decided I should go ahead and buy the Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick in the number 27, which is from their Autumn 2014 collection.

First things first, the packaging is stunning! It comes in this metallic slash mirrored tube that is gorgeous and it feels so much more expensive than it actually is. That sold me on it already.

If we talk about the liptick itself, it's a really pretty dark plum color, perfect for autumn and winter; and, something that I wasn't expecting, it's a matte formula! I've been a lot into matte lipsticks at the moment, so this made it even better.

It applies really nice, although I do wish the tip of the lipstick was more rounded so I could get go the corners easier. Here's a swatch of what it looks like:

And the price tag? It retails for 7.90€ in Spain and £7.90 in the UK.

Weekly photos #24

Only 1 more week to start my classes again...and I don't want to. Even though I get really bored during the summer, it's better than being overwhelmed with papers, projects and exams.

The good thing is that since we're already in fall time, I have to go shopping for the season! haha

1. One of my guilty pleasures
2. We recently got Essie in some stores, but it retails for 12€, which is crazy! Thankfully we have internet and online stores that carry Essie for less than that (although it's still more expensive than US prices).
3. I went to MAC and got myself a blush and two eyeshadows. I'll review them soon.
4. I've been making grilled cheese and ham sandwiches a lot this week. Even my sister wanted me to make one for her...actually she was willing to pay me (1€) because she was very lazy...I didn't do it cause I was feeling lazy as well lol
5. I got my october Teen Vogue magazine, which made me happy :)
6. I was cleaning out my closet and I found this old and very wrinkly t-shirt I got at Hilary Duff's concert in 2006. I can't believe that was 6 years ago!
7 & 8. I painted my nails with those two nail polishes. The color is actually like the one in the second picture.

Nail of the day - Golden Olive

This nail polish is from Kiko but as you can see it looks a lot like Chanel's Peridot. Overall, I think this is a great dupe of you don't want to spend a lot of money on this color, and since I don't think I'm going to wear it that often, I couldn't justify paying 25€ for it.

This is number 395 from Kiko and since it's from the duo-chrome line it was a little more expensive than their regular nail polishes, but still it was 3.5€.

Natural sunlight, 2 coats
Indoors, 2 coats
This is a pretty close color even though I think Chanel's might be a little more on the green side, what do you think?

Nail of the day - Bright orange

Basically last week the weather was getting warmer around here and I thought I'd start the spring time by wearing a bright nail polish, so I painted my nails with this pretty orange. The bad thing is that the weather is cold again and now I look kind of stupid with bright nails, but oh well.

I'm not the kind of person who paints their nails every single color and this is the first orange nail polish that I own. I've never painted them green (real green, if you know what I mean, I love mint), yellow, brown, black or white either. So it's sort of out of my comfort zone but I actually like it.

2 coats, natural light

This nail polish is Kiko's number 358 and it's one of the three nail polishes I showed you on my last haul.
I like that this color could be considered a neon orange (you have to see it in person) but at the same time has a hint of pastel in it (I think you can see that in the photos).

Are you going to wear bright nail polishes this spring?

Haul: a few new things

First of all, I want to apologize for not posting as much as I used to but I'm pretty busy with college stuff. Anyway, this week I've bought a few things that I want to share with all of you. It's not much but I don't really have time to shop either (which makes me super sad).

The first thing that I've been loving is my new Marc by Marc Jacobs iPhone cover. It has printed colorful glasses and I think it's really cute.

My second favorite thing is my new purse. I got it at H&M a few days ago and it was only 19.95€, which I think is a really good price for this bag, since I find it very cute and useful. I thought I was only going to use it when I go out with my friends or shopping but I'm also using it for college because my netbook laptop fits inside.

While I was at H&M I picked up a few head bands. I know this is kind of random but I've wanted some for a while and when I saw them I new I have to get them. I got two packets of three head bands each, for 5.90€ in total.

And also from H&M I got a scarf. It is light weight so it's great for spring. The pattern has gold chains and some things that remind me of old building's decorations or the thing that covers the space between the ceiling and the wall in my house (I don't know what it's called).

You probably (or not) know already that I love fashion books, so I got a new one. It is The Little Dictionary of Fashion by Christian Dior. It contains explanations of fashion items as well as pretty drawings and pictures.

And lastly I went to Kiko and I picked up three nail polishes that I think are cool for spring and summer.

Numbers: 355, 358, 236

oh, and I have a question for you: do you know where to get the China Glaze Hunger Games collection online with reasonable shipping charges?

Nail of the day - Minty green

As promised on my last outfit of the day post, here's the nail polish I was wearing that day. It is the number 345 from the brand Kiko. I don't think this brand is available outside of Europe but I might be wrong; and also I don't know if you can get it all over Europe. I know you can find Kiko stores in Italy, UK, Spain, France, Portugal and there might be some other countries, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm loving pastel colors and mint is one of my favorites. I own a few nail polishes that have this kind of tone, but a lot of people (around 8 really) have asked me about this one while I was wearing it.

Another good thing about Kiko is that it's really cheap. Their nail polishes retail for 2.50€ and it took me 2 coats to be completely opaque. I really like them.

Nail of the day #1 - Purple Glitter Nails

I'm currently loving glitter nail polishes and 2 weeks ago (sort of) I bought OPI's "I Lily Love You" which is a thick glitter nail polish (meaning that it actually has glitter chunks) with a pink/purple base to it.

Since the color is not very opaque I had to paint my nails with another nail polish before applying the glitter one.

As a base, I used Kiko's 330; which is a light violet color:

And here's the final look after I applied the OPI nail polish:
