October 2012 Favorites!

I've been very busy this month and I feel like I'm making excuses in every single post recently but here I am, and I'm going to try to post more frequently.
My favorites this month have been:

For my lips I chose this Baby Lips by Maybelline in the color "pink punch", the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in the color "sweetheart" and the L'Oreal Caresse lipstick in the color "mauve cherie".

As for eyeshadow, I've been loving these two L'Oreal color infallible shadows; the colors are "pebble grey" and "hourglass beige". They're both very pigmented and gorgeous.

I've also been loving these two blushes: the first one is the Tarte amazonian clay 12-hour blush in the color "dollface" and the other one is a MAC blush in the color "stay pretty" which came out in a recent collection, so I don't know if it's still available or not. The brush that I've been using a lot to apply my brush is from Forever 21 (which is crazy to me) and it's the softest ever! It came in a set for around 8€.

This is a little more random but I've been loving that bracelet from H&M and a cleansing water from Biotherm biosource, which is actually a foam when you pump it.

What have you been loving this month?

How much is my face worth?

I've been seeing this post all over blogger and thought it was very interesting and fun to do, so I decided to do it myself.  It basically consists on listing all the products you use on your face on a daily basis to do your make up and add up the prices to see "how much is your face worth".

I just want to say that some products may be different every day like blush, lipstick, lipgloss and/or eyeshadow, but I tried to pick middle-priced items. Also, prices here are more expensive, so if you but these things somewhere else, it'd be different.

  • Pond's "equilibrian-t" moisturizer - 19€ (Actually my mom bought this for me and she doesn't remember the exact price but she said around 18-20€)
  • Make up for ever HD foundation - 38€
  • Dream matte powder by Maybelline - 11€
  • Garnier dark circle roll on - 8.50€
  • Maybelline pure mineral concealer - 7.50€
  • Too faced shadow insurance - 22.15€
  • Urban Decay Naked palette - 38€ (at the time I bought it)
  • NYX slide on eyeliner - 6.20€
  • Maybelline colossal volume express mascara - 11€
  • MAC blush - 22€
  • Maybelline lipstick - 10€
  • NYX round lip gloss - 2€
  • Urban Decay all nighter spray - 18€
19+38+11+8.5+7.5+22.15+38+6.20+11+22+10+2+18= 213.35€

213.35€ is a lot of money for every day make up, but obviously these products last a long time and you don't need to replace most of them in a really long time.

Weekly photos #24

Only 1 more week to start my classes again...and I don't want to. Even though I get really bored during the summer, it's better than being overwhelmed with papers, projects and exams.

The good thing is that since we're already in fall time, I have to go shopping for the season! haha

1. One of my guilty pleasures
2. We recently got Essie in some stores, but it retails for 12€, which is crazy! Thankfully we have internet and online stores that carry Essie for less than that (although it's still more expensive than US prices).
3. I went to MAC and got myself a blush and two eyeshadows. I'll review them soon.
4. I've been making grilled cheese and ham sandwiches a lot this week. Even my sister wanted me to make one for her...actually she was willing to pay me (1€) because she was very lazy...I didn't do it cause I was feeling lazy as well lol
5. I got my october Teen Vogue magazine, which made me happy :)
6. I was cleaning out my closet and I found this old and very wrinkly t-shirt I got at Hilary Duff's concert in 2006. I can't believe that was 6 years ago!
7 & 8. I painted my nails with those two nail polishes. The color is actually like the one in the second picture.

Beauty Haul | Revlon, Essie, Benefit, Tarte & more

These are the products I got on my trip to the United States of America. It's less than what I was expecting to get, but I'm pretty happy with everything.

I know we have Maybelline here, but these are not out yet and since everyone was saying how good they are, I had to get a couple.

Baby lips in "Peppermint" and "Pink Punch"
Then I got a bunch of things from Revlon because we don't have it in Spain, so I was very excited. First I got this Eyeshadow stick in the color "torch" and one of their new quads in "Attitude", which are neutral colors as you can see.

I also got one of their newest Just Bitten Kissable lip stains (I think that's what it's called) in the color "Sweetheart". I really like this product because it has great pigmentation, the color is really pretty and stays for a long time.

Lastly from Revlon I got to of their very famous lip butters.

Lip Butters in "Strawberry shortcake" and "Cotton candy"
From Covergirl I got their lash blast waterproof mascara and a single eyeshadow in the color "French vanilla" that I'm going to use as a highlight because I don't like wasting my "virgin" from the Naked palette.

My most expensive purchases were these three things: 2 blushes and a primer. The first blush is "Hervana" by Benefit and the other one is the Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in "Dollface" from Tarte. The primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance (which I actually didn't get while I was there, I got it online).

Because I bought a Benefit blush they gave me these 2 things for free. One is just an eye mask thing that says "beautification in progress" and the other one is a primer sample called "Stay don't stray".

As far as nail polish goes I got 3 but I wanted to get more. Anyway, I didn't want to look like a crazy person and I didn't want my mom to be mad at me, so that's why I only got three.

Essie's "Cute as a button", "Mojito madness" and "Shop till you drop"
Last but not least I got a body mist from the Pink line at Victoria's Secret and another one of the EOS lip balms.

I'm sorry this was pretty long, but hopefully you liked it anyway :)

Pink Swoon by MAC: review + swatch

I have another MAC blush review for all you you today. I love blush and I feel like I can never have enough (I actually don't have that many) because they're all so unique and different, even if the difference is really small.

This blush is Pink Swoon by MAC and I would say it's a perfect pink color for your cheeks.

MAC blushes are really amazing quality and I recommend them to all of you. Just go to your MAC store or counter and swatch a bunch of them, because they are really pretty.

They are a bit expensive if you think about it (prices are different in every country but I believe it cost me around 20€) but totally worth the money. As you can see the package is really good. Little story here: I held this blush in one hand and my NYX creme blush, which looks really similar, on the other hand and that's when I really noticed the difference. This one is more heavy and the material feels nicer. You may think it's kind of stupid but I think it's important.

The color looks brighter in the package than it does once it's swatched or on your cheeks. When you apply it, it looks light pink instead of a really colorful, bright pink.

Here are two swatches on my arm so you get the idea of the color it would have once you apply it on your skin.

Launch Away! by MAC: review + swatch

I went to MAC the other day because I wanted to get this blush. I've been seeing the Hey Sailor! collection all around blogger and youtube and I wanted to get something so I went online to see what they had and loved everything! So that was a problem, but when I went to the actual store, I fell in love with this blush.

First of all, the packaging is really cute, and that's always nice when you're trying to see what you like; and it goes pretty well with the sailor theme of the collection.

I'd say the color of the blush is a light peach. It really is light and it's also kind of sheer, so you actually have to apply quite a bit of product to see its real color. Even though, when you're wearing it, it can look light pink.

Here's a swatch on my arm. As you can tell it's really hard to see but it gives my face a nice glow. It might look better on darker skin tones because it would stand out more.

Did you get anything from this collection?

May 2012 Favorites!

I don't have to go to class anymore!!! (well, I have to take my finals, but you know what I mean). That's the most exciting thing of the month. I have waking up early, going to class, getting bored in class, regretting going to class, being tired all day, and repeating that same thing every single day. My last final is june 22nd, so that's still pretty far away but since I can sleep in, it's all better.

Okay, so let's go ahead and see what my favorites this month have been:

Urban Decay "all nighter" spray: This is a make up setting spray and I feel like it works wonders now that it's summer. I didn't really feel that it did that much in winter (although I used it every day) but now that it's getting really warm I do feel the difference.
DKNY Red Delicious perfume: This perfume smells really fresh and it has that apple hint that all DKNY Delicious perfumes have, although it's not as strong as the green one.

NYX Jumbo Eye pencils in "milk" and "yogurt": I use these two as a base for my eye shadow and they make the color on top look better. Even if I wear these I still use a primer because I feel like it lasts longer.

Milani eyeshadow quad in "desert suades": I've been loving the lightest color that looks like a highlight, but I've been wearing it a lot all over my lid, on top of the "milk" jumbo pencil. I also love the pink-ish one.

MAC mineralize eyeshadow in "snow season": I've been loving it on top of the "yogurt" jumbo pencil because I feel like they're a perfect match. You've probably seen me talking bout this eyeshadow before, but really it's one of my favorites of all time, and I've been wearing it a lot this month.

Maybelline lipstick in "162 feel pink": I love this color so much because it's pink but it's a little dark at the same time. Not very dark but you can definitely see the color from far away.

NYX blush in "peach": this color is really light and I love that because my skin is really light as well. If you have fair skin I really recommend this blush, but if you're skin is darker it might not look as nice.

Rings from ASOS: I've been obsessed with these ever since I got them. I've been wearing them like crazy and I don't think I'm going to stop doing it in june.

March 2012 Favorites!

It's been a while since I've done my monthly favorites but that's just because I didn't think I really had anything new or interesting to show. I'm gonna do my beauty, nail polish, music, iPhone app and random favorites this month; so it's more than just a few products.

BEAUTY:

1. Elf Stipple Brush which I've been using to apply blush.
2. NYX blush in "Peach". I don't know why it's called peach, but it's just a very light pink that looks great if you're pale like me.
3. MAC eyeshadow in "snow season"
4. Maybelline super stay 24h foundation in "cameo". I've been having some acne problems this month and this has helped me cover them. I really like this foundation.

NAIL POLISH:

1. Make An Entrance by China Glaze. (You can see it on this nail of the day post)
2. I Lily Love You by OPI (I've used it for an accent nail while wearing make an entrance)
3. Pink Friday by OPI. This is probably my favorite pink shade of all time.

MUSIC:
1. Part of me - Katy Perry

2. Rumour has it - Adele

IPHONE APP:
1. Wunderlist: I'm a list freak. I make lists for everything in my life: books I want to read, movies I want to watch, nail polishes I want to buy, college assignments, posts I want to write, songs I want to listen to that have been recommended to me...and it goes on and on. This app is really great and it keeps everything well organized.

RANDOM:
1. Sketching: I'm not gonna lie, I'm not good at drawing, at all; but I sometimes have ideas in my mind of dresses and outfits and I'm starting to learn how to draw figures a little bit better. I'm watching tutorials online and all that so I can draw something decent. Here are two of my sketches.

Review: NYX Cream Blush

I was requested to review NYX's cream blush by Carly after I showed it in my September Favorites. If any of you wants me to show a certain item, or have any kind of request, just tell me in the comments below :)

So let's jump into the review:

Front of the blush: NYX Rouge Cream Blush

The color that I own is "Natural" (as you can see in the picture above). I only own one of these blushes because I've always been a little picky with cream beauty products, but I'm going to buy 2 more once I get the chance.
You can probably guess that I really liked this blush. It has the perfect color for every day looks.

You can see how creamy it is, but it feels very light when you apply it.
  • Size: it has a pretty good size and comes with a very good amount of product.
  • Price: we don't have NYX in my country, so I bought it from ebay. I paid more than its regular price ($6.50), but not too much ($9.50).
  • How I use it: In my opinion, it's better to apply it with your finger rather than using a brush. When I tried the brush, the color stayed just like a spot in my face and it didn't blend as well. So if you are considering buying one of these, use your fingers.
  • Shades: it comes in 13 different shades so you have a lot to choose from.

September 2011 Favorites!

Well, September's gone by fast and that means my vacations are over and I start my sophomore year at college next week (yeah, I know it's late, but we finish later on too). I'm sad about that but I'm excited about fall and all the fashion trends that are coming up; I'm excited to dress to class every day and do my make up everyday (cause I've been slaking a little lately).

So, here are my favorite September beauty items:

1. Clean & Clear face wash.

I've been using it every other day since mid August and look how much I have left. It lasts a long time and it gives a fresh feeling to my face but it doesn't make it tight. It's also oil-free, which I love (since I have oily skin).

2. Vichy make up remover (3 in 1).

It works as lotion, toner and eye make up remover. It's very creamy but light at the same time and it does a great job removing my heavy eye make up. I also use it to clean my brushes and it works great.

3. NYX cream blush.

It is in the color "Natural" and it gives a pretty pink color to my cheeks. It's the first cream blush that I bought and I'm in love with it.

4. Elf zit zapper.

I've been breaking out a little lately and this is something that I've been using to dry my zits. It's just like a roller that you apply on your zits and has alcohol (or something that smells like it) and dries them out. It was also very cheap and I thought it wasn't going to work, but it does.

5. Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion.

I tried to use all of my Elf eyeshadow primer before opening this one, but I had to try it and now I've been using this one only since then. It blends very well (which means that you only need to use a tiny little bit) and I feel like my eyeshadow stays better that with my Elf one (but that one works just fine).

6. Elf minty lip gloss.

This one is in the color "Boston" and I've been loving it since it has a deeper pinkish color, which is better for fall. It's actually in between pink and red, and since it's minty, it's very fresh. I just love these lip glosses.

7. NYX Slide On pencil.

This one is in "Jet Black" and the reason why I've been using it and loving it so much is because I've been going out at night with friends a lot in September and I needed an eyeliner that would stay all night on. This is that eyeliner.

What are your favorite products this month?
