L'Oreal Color Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds: Blake | Review and swatch

L'Oreal Color Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds: Blake
I'm always on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick and, althought I already have a few that I love, I couldn't not buy this one. L'Oreal released recently a collection of pure red lipsticks inspired by some celebrities in the same concept as their nude lipsticks line.

Blake's (Blake Lively) lipstick from the L'Oreal Color Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds is a slightly pink toned red with blue undertones, which is perfect if you want your teeth to appear whiter.

I don't know if this shade would be everyone's favorite, but I do recommend heading over to your local drugstore and taking a look at the collection because they most likely have a red that you'll love.

In terms of lasting power, I'd say it's nothing special: it would smuge if you eat/drink and you might have to reapply throughout the day, but it will last longer if you do two layers and blot/set it when you firt apply it.

Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick 27 | Review and swatch

Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick 27
After hearing a lot of people (specially Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup) talk about this lipstick, and knowing how much I love my dark lipsticks, I decided I should go ahead and buy the Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick in the number 27, which is from their Autumn 2014 collection.

First things first, the packaging is stunning! It comes in this metallic slash mirrored tube that is gorgeous and it feels so much more expensive than it actually is. That sold me on it already.

Kiko Ace of Diamond lipstick 27
If we talk about the liptick itself, it's a really pretty dark plum color, perfect for autumn and winter; and, something that I wasn't expecting, it's a matte formula! I've been a lot into matte lipsticks at the moment, so this made it even better.

It applies really nice, although I do wish the tip of the lipstick was more rounded so I could get go the corners easier. Here's a swatch of what it looks like:

And the price tag? It retails for 7.90€ in Spain and £7.90 in the UK.

Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Color in Blush Essence | Review + swatch

maybelline color elixir blush essence
maybelline color elixir blush essence
This may seem like a shock to anyone who knows me because I'm not a lipgloss person. I usually tend to stick to lipsticks and stains, but I do love Maybelline lip products, so I decided to give this a go; I'm talking about the Color Elixir line that came out a few months ago (I think). To my surprise, I actually like it and have already worn it 2 or 3 times since I bought it.

The color I chose is called Blush Essence and, although it has a bit of shimmer, I found it to be one of the most wearable from the ones they had at the store. It's a shade that works great over any pink lipstick or on its own, since it's very opaque and creamy as you can see on the swatch below.

It retails for about 9.90€ in Spain (I bought it at Primor), $8.99 in the States (Ulta price) and, sadly,  I don't think it's out in the UK yet since I couldn't find it on Boots or Superdrug (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

¿Have you tried this lipgloss line?

Wedge by MAC | Review and Swatches

As I told you in my Satin Taupe review, on that trip to MAC I also got another eyeshadow: Wedge. This one is less known but I also think it's an essential for anyone that likes wearing eyeshadow.

Wedge is a matte brown color very comparable to Naked by Urban Decay, although I'd say Wedge is a little bit darker, but very slightly. I use Naked a lot and sometimes I just don't like to get the whole palette out just for one color, so I though this would be very nice. If you don't own the Naked Palette I really recommend you buy this one.

You can create a lot of neutral looks with this eyeshadow or you can use it in your crease as a blending color. MAC eyeshadows have amazing quality, and this one is no exception as you can see in the swatch below:

Satin Taupe by MAC | Review + Swatches

Satin Taupe is one of MAC's most famous eyeshadows. I was at the MAC counter the other day because I wanted something from the new collection but I couldn't stop looking at their eyeshadows, so I asked the lady there to recommend a neutral one. This is the first one she mentioned and after she told me the name I already knew I was getting it. I also bought Wedge, but I'll do another post for that one.

As you can see it is a beautiful shimmery taupe eyeshadow. If you look closely you can see that the shimmer is silver, and you can also notice if you look at it at an angle with the light.

I think it is a staple piece for any make up collection and I don't know why I didn't purchase it before. Even though it is a little dark, I think it can be worn in a daily look if you only use a little. Also, it is highly pigmented as you can see in this next picture:

It is definitely a new favorite of mine. What do you think?
Also, let me know if you're loving any MAC eyeshadow that you think I might also like :)

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable | Review + Swatches

A few posts ago I reviewed the Revlon Lip Butters and now I'm here to tell you about another Revlon lip product that has been talked about for a while now; the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lip stains.

Since they are stains they last longer than regular lipstick or lipgloss but they're also moisturizing and not drying like most stains.

They come in a bunch of colors but I only have two right now; I plan on getting more because I really like this product. The colors that I have are Smitten (dark one) and Sweetheart (light one), and I like both of them very much.

People say these are comparable to the Clinique Chubby Stick, but since I haven't tried those ones I can't really say if that statement is true or not. Anyways, these are around $7-8 and the Clinique ones retail for about $20, I belive; so I think these Revlon ones are very much worth the try.

Also I have to say that they taste/smell like peppermint, which is something that I love, but I know some people may not like that, but still, it goes away a few minutes after you've applied it.

The twist up so there is more product that you don't see; I say this because some people can think that you only get the tip of the stick of product, but like I said, there is more inside.

Here are the swatches: as you can see Smitten comes out more sheer than Sweetheart but both colors are gorgeous in my opinion.

Revlon Lip Butters | Review + Swatches

Today I want to talk about something that's been very popular in both YouTube and Blogger for a while now, and that's the Revlon Lip Butters.

I got 2 of these when I went to the US and the other one I found at a store when I went to the beach here in Spain, which was a surprise since I never see Revlon products where I live.

The colors that I have are Raspberry Pie, Strawberry Shortcake and Cotton Candy. As you may have heard, these are very moisturizing because they're half lip balm, and also pretty pigmented (some shades are very sheer but have nice color) because they're half lipstick.

The packaging is great because you always know what color you're getting. As you can see the whole package shows the color, but also the top is clear so you can actually see the lip butter.

They go on very smooth and don't have any scent. They're great if you want to apply them on top of a lipstick or on their own.
Out of the ones I have, the one that I wear the most is Raspberry Pie.

These are the swatches in the same order as I told you before:

I recommend these to all of you because I think they're very wearable and they're something nice to have since they come in a bunch of colors that suit every single look.
Have you tried any of these? What's your favorite one?

Weekly photos #18

I'm not at home, again. It seems like I'm going everywhere this summer, even though I'm still in the country. So I don't have many pictures to show you because I've been packing, coming here, and also (I have to admit) I've been a little lazy lately.

Anyway, here are some pictures from my trip:

1 & 3. These are actually from the same outfit. I didn't want to wear the hat on the train but I might go to the beach (so I wanted to take it) and it wouldn't fit in the suitcase. I'm also in love with those 3 bracelets; the cross one is from ASOS and the other two from H&M.
2. I took a train to come to my current location and that's the train station we have in Madrid. Actually there's two of them, but that's the most popular one (and prettier one).
4. This is just the view from the train. Middle-south Spain in the summer time: very self explanatory.

Hopefully I'm going to visit some castles and places over here this week and I can show you that next Sunday, or I might do a whole different post if I find it interesting enough.

Have a nice Sunday!

Chatterbox by MAC: review + swatch

Chatterbox is a MAC lipstick that fits into their "Amplified" category, which means that it is very pigmented and it has a cream finish (it's not matte but it's not shimmery).
I would describe it as a bright pink color with a slight hint of coral, even though it looks darker in this picture.

As you might know, MAC lipsticks come in a black bullet like stick/tube/package which makes it look sleek and nice but it's not so much a good thing if you have a few of them and don't want to look to the bottom of it to see the color.

This one is more like the real color
I think this color is perfect for the summer time and I recommend it with a light pink color on your cheeks; I think that looks really cute. I also picture someone wearing this lipstick while wearing a bright floral pattern summer dress (but that's just an idea haha).

This swatch is pretty close to the real color, if not perfect, so look at this last picture instead of the other ones if you're trying to decide if you like the color or not.

I'm pretty happy with this lipstick so far and it applies smooth even when my lips are a bit dry and chapped.

Pink Swoon by MAC: review + swatch

I have another MAC blush review for all you you today. I love blush and I feel like I can never have enough (I actually don't have that many) because they're all so unique and different, even if the difference is really small.

This blush is Pink Swoon by MAC and I would say it's a perfect pink color for your cheeks.

MAC blushes are really amazing quality and I recommend them to all of you. Just go to your MAC store or counter and swatch a bunch of them, because they are really pretty.

They are a bit expensive if you think about it (prices are different in every country but I believe it cost me around 20€) but totally worth the money. As you can see the package is really good. Little story here: I held this blush in one hand and my NYX creme blush, which looks really similar, on the other hand and that's when I really noticed the difference. This one is more heavy and the material feels nicer. You may think it's kind of stupid but I think it's important.

The color looks brighter in the package than it does once it's swatched or on your cheeks. When you apply it, it looks light pink instead of a really colorful, bright pink.

Here are two swatches on my arm so you get the idea of the color it would have once you apply it on your skin.

Launch Away! by MAC: review + swatch

I went to MAC the other day because I wanted to get this blush. I've been seeing the Hey Sailor! collection all around blogger and youtube and I wanted to get something so I went online to see what they had and loved everything! So that was a problem, but when I went to the actual store, I fell in love with this blush.

First of all, the packaging is really cute, and that's always nice when you're trying to see what you like; and it goes pretty well with the sailor theme of the collection.

I'd say the color of the blush is a light peach. It really is light and it's also kind of sheer, so you actually have to apply quite a bit of product to see its real color. Even though, when you're wearing it, it can look light pink.

Here's a swatch on my arm. As you can tell it's really hard to see but it gives my face a nice glow. It might look better on darker skin tones because it would stand out more.

Did you get anything from this collection?

Weekly photos #5

This week has been a busy week to me. I've been doing a lot of college related stuff and I didn't even have time to post on here. I have classes till the end of the month and then I have finals in June, so we're kind of doing a lot of projects and papers now and stressing a little bit about everything.

Anyway, here are some pictures of my week, which was pretty boring.

1. I love The Wizard of Oz and I got the 2 dvd edition for my birthday last week. I know it's a really old movie, but I really like it and enjoy it as if it were new.
2. I used my matte top coat from Rimmel London for the second time ever. I really like the effect, I don't know why I don't use it often.
3. My cat likes to be creepy from time to time and she kind of hides and then watches you and stares at you for a while.
4. I went to Ikea and when I saw mirrors I couldn't resist and I took a full body picture as a (kind of) outfit of the day.
5. I don't go often to Ikea so I'm always amused by the amount of boxes they have, it's crazy!
6. Some guys were performing and break-dancing on a square close to my house the other day. They always have stuff going on there for people to see. I think this was like travel promotion for Lyon, a city in France.
7. This shows how bored I get in the subway. Not just the fact that I decided to take a picture of my face with the front camera of my iphone, but my facial expression. It says it all.
8. I went out with my friends yesterday night and those are the bracelets I wore, and my watch which I've had for ages.

Also, the weather suddenly changed and it's pretty warm out now, so hopefully I'll be able to show you some spring/summer outfits soon :)

xoxo
